THE PURE WROUGHT IRON BARS ARE ARRANGED IN THE FORMATION
BETWEEN THE LAYER POWDERED CHARCOAL AND MAINTAINED AT HIGHER TEMPERATURE
(1500’C) FOR 5 TO 15 DAYS DEPENDING UPON THE QUALITY OF STEEL REQUIRED . THE WROUGHT IRON GETS
COVERED WITH BLISTER DUE TO COMBINATION OF CARBON AND THUS STEEL SO PRODUCED IS
TERMED AS “BLISTER STEEL”. BLISTER STEEL HAS FISSURES AND CAVITY AND ALSO ITS
STRUCTURE IS NOT HOMOGENEOUS . IT MAY BE EMPLOYED FOR MACHINED PARTS AND FACING
HAMMER BUT LESS SUITABLE FOR EDGE TOOL.
